We are having great fun in Owls class this term as we look at play
scripts and non- chronological reports through English. We have been
using the iPads to capture our acting moments and improve our
Our topic is What the Romans did for us. We are enjoying reading
Romans on the Rampage written by Jeremy Strong. We think it is really
funny and would love to ride in a chariot just like the characters in the
In History and Geography we are looking at how the Roman Invasion of
Britain changed the British nation. In Art we have created mosaics and
looked at Fresco art in the House of Liva. We have drawn from
observation in our school garden where the flowers and plants are
growing fast with the warm sunshine.
Many children are enjoying the extra-curricular clubs including
Gardening and Art Club run by Mrs Goymer and the ever growing Lego
club and School Council run by Mrs Ainsworth.
Our Judaism topic has taken us inside synagogues and the importance
of the Torah to the Jewish faith. We have created our own scrolls and
written personal family wishes for our own homes.
PE has been great fun learning about the Roman games and how
different Roman games have been played in modern day times. Look out
for our Gladiator dances coming soon.
In Science we are investigating Shadows. Miss Hall and Miss Platts
continue to support our children in many ways creating fun small group
activities, reading sessions and much more.
